Martin Gill is native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and first came to Costa Rica in 2000 after graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Spanish. He worked and lived in Manuel Antonio for two years running the office operations for Costa Rican Dreams Sport fishing in Quepos. Like his colleagues in the coastal office, he fell in love with the area and made his first successful investments in Costa Rica real estate during those years.
In 2002 Martin moved back to New Orleans and began to work for Dupuy Storage and Forwarding, a coffee storage, handling, processing, and third party roasting company where he managed 1,000,000 square feet of industrial real estate and rehabilitated and operated a coffee roasting plant near the french quarter of New Orleans. During this time in New Orleans, Martin met his wife, Mary Katharine, from Dallas, Texas and was married in March of 2005.
In 2006, Martin and Mary Katharine jumped on the opportunity to come back to Costa Rica, join the 2 Costa Rica Real Estate team, settle back into the laid back tropical lifestyle, and start a family. He lived in Manuel Antonio for over 3 years with his two boys while working the 2CR coastal team.
In 2009, Martin and his family moved to Escazu in the Central Valley to join the team in Plaza Itskatzu. His boys are now enrolled in a Montessori school in Escazu and he enjoys the city life and mountain climate with his family and spends weekends in the country and on the coast.
He is an avid gardener, surfer, bad golfer, fisherman, and outdoor enthusiast.
Costa Rican Real Estate is a natural fit for Martin’s skill set. He is fluent in Spanish and experienced in construction, landscape design, architectural design, and local permitting processes. Armed with this type of expertise, Martin is able to offer unique and invaluable advice to his clients.
